About Me

Neuroscientist, artist, educator, and long-time community advocate. With a Ph.D. in Experimental and Physiological Psychology, I served on the medical faculties of three major North American universities, published over 30 peer-reviewed articles, and was elected to the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Honor Society. My clinical work focused on adolescents and young adults, with consulting roles for Trinity College School, Sears Canada, and the RCMP.

Professional Skills

Alongside science, I’ve always pursued art. As a member of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Arts Collective, I’ve held several solo and group exhibitions, earning critical acclaim for paintings recognized as equal to those in top private galleries across Canada. My book Teen Brain, Teen Mind brought international attention, followed by a 13-episode TV series, Adolescence: The Stormy Decade. My next book, Art, Science and the Importance of Truth, is underway. My career in education and outreach includes cross-Canada speaking tours and workshops across Europe, the Middle East, and North America for diverse audiences — students, teachers, parents, police services, social organizations, and medical professionals.

Down Time

I remain active in civic and cultural life: former Artist-in-Residence with Bravo Niagara, Vice-Chair of the TD Niagara Jazz Festival, advisor to several community initiatives, and founding president of the Art Gallery of Niagara-on-the-Lake. You can view my art at ronclavier.com.
